Responsibilities
- Perform collision repairs on heavy trucks using advanced welding techniques such as MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment.
- Conduct auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, sanding, auto painting, and automotive cosmetic repairs to restore vehicles to factory standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for disassembly, assembly, auto parts installation, and detailed fabrication repair techniques.
- Execute automotive structural repairs involving sheet metal fabrication and auto restoration processes to ensure vehicle integrity.
- Apply automotive body refinishing techniques including auto painting and auto glass replacement with precision and attention to detail.
- Use automotive estimating skills to assess damage, prepare repair plans, and communicate effectively with customers about repair scope.
- Perform heavy lifting safely during component replacement or structural repairs while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service by providing clear communication regarding repair progress and vehicle condition.
Experience
- Dealership experience or background working as an automotive body technician is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with MIG welding, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, and automotive parts installation.
- Hands-on experience with auto restoration projects, sheet metal work, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and auto painting methods such as airless paint spraying is advantageous.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive detailing equipment for precise repairs.
- Experience working with heavy-duty trucks or commercial vehicles is a plus but not mandatory.
