Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Daycare Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of the daycare center, assist with supervising and engaging children, and help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and commitment will contribute to fostering positive developmental experiences for children while ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and structured activities to ensure their safety and engagement
- Assist lead teachers with implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote early childhood development
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and learning materials regularly
- Support children with personal care routines such as diapering, toileting, and handwashing in accordance with health guidelines
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns that arise
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures and mandated reporting laws in case of emergencies or incidents
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR is required; additional training in special education or behavior management is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to maintain patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and child supervision best practices
