Performs the primary functions of a Registered Professional Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, educating and evaluating a designated group of patients in accordance with all established Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies. Is responsible for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment on the unit and for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team in conjunction with the HN. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Provides management and supervision of all phases of preanesthesia and Postanesthesia care, ambulatory surgery and pain management. Assures the safe and effective delivery of nursing care and Perianesthesia Nursing Standards.

Employee is required to walk continuously, sit and stand occasionally. Employee must lift/carry a light load (20# max) or medium load (50# max) occasionally and rarely (51-100#) with assist. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, kneel, climb or lift from waist to overhead. For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. Employee is occasionally exposed to the following environmental conditions: fumes, radiation, electrical hazard and CRT terminal work. Employee is frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens. May be required to work in other area of the Surgical Services Department. May be needed to work other shifts.
