Our seasonal team will soon be heading back to school and other commitments, and we are ready to add dependable, permanent team members to the Filling Station BBQ family.
We are looking for someone who understands that front of house is about much more than taking orders and delivering food. You are the face of our company. You are often the first person our guests meet, and your attitude, menu knowledge, and hospitality can turn a first time customer into a regular.
Filling Station BBQ is a locally owned restaurant located inside a historic 1930s Texaco station in downtown Lee’s Summit. We proudly serve smoked meats, house made sides, and signature sauces. We care about serving great barbecue, but we care just as much about creating an experience that makes people excited to come back.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome every guest with genuine, friendly service
- Learn our menu and confidently help guests choose the right meal
- Explain our smoked meats, sandwiches, sides, sauces, and specials
- Make thoughtful recommendations and suggest add ons without being pushy
- Take accurate dine in, carryout, phone, and online orders
- Deliver food, refill drinks, and check on guests throughout their visit
- Package carryout and delivery orders carefully and double check accuracy
- Keep the dining room, counter, beverage station, and guest areas clean and inviting
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and the rest of the team
- Help create the welcoming and energetic atmosphere our guests expect from Filling Station BBQ
What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Outgoing, confident, and comfortable talking with guests
- Excited to learn the menu and sell the Filling Station BBQ experience
- Dependable and interested in becoming part of our permanent team
- Able to stay friendly and focused during busy services
- Detail oriented when taking, preparing, and checking orders
- Willing to help wherever needed instead of saying, “That’s not my job”
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Proud to represent a locally owned business in our community
Restaurant experience is helpful, but a great attitude, strong work ethic, and natural hospitality matter even more. We can teach you the menu. We cannot teach you to care.

Job Type: Permanent, part time or full time opportunities available
