CDL-A Equipment Transport:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable CDL Driver to join our site development construction company. The candidate will mainly be responsible for transporting equipment to job sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in safely transporting heavy equipment to and from construction sites, ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of DOT regulations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Introduction:
Tiger Contracting, LLC, founded in 2005 is a Lakeland based construction company specializing in commercial site development. Our scope of works includes but is not limited to underground utilities, site demolition, excavation and clearing, construction layout and as-builts, and grading and stabilization earthwork. Most projects are located in Polk and surrounding counties, within a 75 mile radius of our Lakeland office.
Job Description:
- Safely transport construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, skid steers and other machinery to and from job sites.
- Operate and maintain flatbed, lowboy, or other specialized trailers used to transport heavy equipment.
- Inspect and secure all loads, ensuring equipment is properly fastened to prevent accidents or damage during transport
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize delivery time while adhering to traffic laws and weight limitations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety checks are performed on transport vehicles prior to each trip.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including weight limits and hazardous materials handling.
- Complete daily trip logs, maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with superintendents, foremen, and colleagues regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays or issues.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment when required , and collaborate with construction teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license
- Experience in operating heavy-duty trucks and transporting construction equipment.
- Lowboy experience
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Physical ability to safely load, secure, and unload various types of construction machinery.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks such as climbing into trucks and machinery.
- Clean driving record and no history of accidents or violations.
- Forklift experience.
