Overview
We are seeking a versatile and high-energy Barista & Cafe Attendant to join our restaurant cafe team. In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, combining the technical artistry of a barista with the hospitality of a food service professional. You will split your time between crafting premium espresso-based beverages and preparing or serving light, high-quality food items to guests. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong multitasking abilities, and maintains an unshakeable commitment to customer service excellence.
Responsibilities for Beverage Crafting and Service
- Brew and serve a complete menu of hot and cold beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, and seasonal specials.
- Dial-in espresso grinders and adjust espresso machine extraction variables to ensure consistent flavor quality.
- Demonstrate milk steaming proficiency to achieve ideal micro-foam texture, adding foundational latte art when serving.
- Educate customers on our available coffee bean profiles, roast varieties, and preparation methods
Food Preparation and Presentation
- Greet customers warmly and assist them by providing their completed orders correctly at the front counter using our Toast POS system.
- Prepare and assemble food items efficiently, ensuring quality and food safety standards are met at all times.
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front counter area, including food handling stations and equipment.
- Assist with ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Follow food safety management protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting.
Skills
- Experience: 1+ years of professional barista experience in a specialty cafe or restaurant environment preferred.
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or quick service restaurant environments.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast for retail sales transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques.
- Previous experience in cashiering, serving, or café operations is highly desirable.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
