Ophthalmology Front Office Manager and Surgery Scheduler
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager to join our established independent ophthalmology practice, which has been serving the community for over 15 years. Our current front office manager, who has been with the practice since its founding, will be retiring within the next 2 months. We are looking for a long-term successor who is committed to maintaining the culture, stability, and high standard of care our team has built.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a close-knit, team-oriented practice. The Front Office Practice Manager will oversee daily operations while actively supporting staff and stepping into various roles as needed to ensure smooth clinical and administrative workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day front office operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management
- Oversee scheduling surgery and making sure all prior authorizations are obtained
- Assist physician owner with some human resources functions, including hiring support, onboarding, and employee relations
- Serve as administrative assistant to the physician practice owner
- Billing is outsourced to a billing company, but will be responsible for oversight:
- Monitoring performance of outsourced billing company
- Participating in weekly calls to review collections, claims, and overall billing success
- Ensuring accuracy and accountability in revenue cycle processes by billing company
- Ensure Medicare and Medicaid credentialing is current for physicians and the ASC
- Coordinate with CIN for outsourced private insurance credentialing
- Provide coverage and support in various office roles during staff absences (e.g., front desk, clinical flow, administrative tasks)
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience in medical front office management required (ophthalmology experience preferred)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to function in a hands-on role and adapt to evolving practice needs
- Familiarity with billing processes and revenue cycle oversight. Billing is outsourced to a billing company.
Schedule Options:
- Full-time preferred, Monday through Friday
- No weekends or Saturdays

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
