Union Mission is seeking a dedicated Therapist to provide professional counseling, family-life education, and related support services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. This position offers the opportunity to use a variety of therapeutic approaches while working collaboratively with community partners and other behavioral-health professionals.
What You’ll Do
As a Therapist, you will provide client-centered, professional behavioral-health services in individual, family, couples, and group settings. You will also connect clients with appropriate community resources and help expand access to services across multiple locations based on community needs.
Direct Client Services
- Respond to telephone inquiries involving service needs, crisis situations, information, and referrals
- Conduct comprehensive intake interviews with new clients
- Provide ongoing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families
- Facilitate educational and psychoeducational groups
- Facilitate or co-facilitate treatment and support groups
- Use a variety of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches based on each client’s needs
- Follow agency procedures related to fee setting, collection, and billing
- Coordinate with community agencies, behavioral-health professionals, and other service providers
- Represent the Counseling Center professionally at community events, meetings, and committees as requested
- Provide program services at various locations to help meet community needs
Clinical Supervision and Professional Development
- Attend supervisory conferences at least twice each month
- Arrive prepared to discuss client services, previous assignments, program policies, clinical questions, and team concerns
- Participate in assigned in-service training
- Attend relevant workshops and professional conferences as staffing and funding allow
- Assist supervisors with the training and development of student interns
Documentation and Compliance
- Complete intake records, service summaries, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain complete, confidential, and current client records
- Follow internal documentation requirements and applicable external standards, including CARF, APS, Medicaid, and other regulatory or funding requirements
Team Participation
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Contribute through information sharing, collaborative problem-solving, and agenda development
- Work effectively with colleagues to strengthen client services and program operations

What You’ll Bring
- Current licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
- Associate-licensed professionals will be considered
- Candidates who have successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) will also be considered
- Broad experience using a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches and treatment modalities
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and therapeutic skills
- Strong administrative, management, and supervisory abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work compassionately and effectively with individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to represent the Counseling Center professionally in community and public-relations settings
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, collaboration, and client-centered care
