Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Head and Assistant Coaches for UNIS Athletics Boys 7th Grade Soccer and Boys 8th Grade Soccer to lead and inspire young athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love of soccer while promoting physical activity, discipline, and personal growth among middle school students. The ideal candidates will bring a passion for coaching, a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, and experience working with youth in a dynamic environment. Your leadership will be vital in creating a positive, motivating atmosphere that encourages every player to reach their full potential on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute engaging practices focused on skill development, game strategies, and teamwork
- Lead the team during matches, providing clear instructions and fostering sportsmanship among players
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual improvement
- Promote a safe environment by enforcing rules, managing behavior, and ensuring proper use of equipment
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other coaches to coordinate schedules and communicate team updates
- Organize team activities that build camaraderie, discipline, and enthusiasm for the sport
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, player development, and game results to track progress
Requirements
- Prior experience in sports coaching, particularly soccer or similar team sports
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with middle school students in a teaching or childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and game strategies
- Excellent behavior management skills to foster respect and positive conduct among players
- Experience in physical education instruction or teaching sports-related skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff while maintaining a lively and motivating coaching style
