American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position at a large Level I trauma teaching facility, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Primary inpatient acute care setting within a large short-term acute care hospital (1,259 staffed beds)
-
Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital
-
Patient populations include cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, medicine, trauma, surgical, and oncology
-
Utilizes SPH equipment, vital carts, iPad interpreter, and ADL supplies
-
Charting performed in Epic
-
Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (0700–1530, with flexibility to start as late as 0800)

One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a corresponding weekday off that week
-
No on-call requirement
-
Clinician may float to any therapy service line within scope to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities required

13-week contract

Current, active OT license required at time of consideration; MO State License required; IL candidates may be considered with a pending IL license (must be noted)

Minimum 1 year of OT experience required

Acute care experience required; Level I trauma hospital experience preferred

Current BLS certification required

Epic EMR experience required

Strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of patient populations

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Establish individualized treatment plans that account for discharge needs, expected functional status, and appropriate equipment and supplies

Educate and collaborate with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team, including making referrals to specialists as appropriate
-
Delegate to OT assistants and techs through written and verbal communication, matching interventions to appropriate skill levels

Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies

Black or gray scrubs required

Monthly parking passes are available at various locations and price points; parking information is provided during orientation

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility in this health system as a traveler
-
Allied travelers may work at this health system for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
