Overview
Transit & Flow is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Master Plumber / Ohio-licensed plumbing professional to help lead and execute plumbing projects across residential and commercial environments.
This is a key role for an experienced plumbing professional who can combine strong technical ability, field leadership, estimating knowledge, code compliance, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be capable of overseeing plumbing installation, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, remodels, and construction projects from initial assessment through completion.
Candidates with experience in both Plumbing and HVAC are strongly preferred and will receive priority consideration.
Responsibilities
● Lead and supervise plumbing technicians and subcontractors on residential and commercial projects
● Coordinate field activities to maintain efficient workflow, quality standards, and project schedules
● Diagnose, install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot plumbing systems
● Perform service and installation work involving:
● Domestic water systems
● Water heaters
● Drain, waste, and vent systems
● Sewer and drainage systems
● Fixtures and faucets
● Pumps and sump systems
● Gas and water piping where properly licensed
● Commercial plumbing systems
● Remodel and renovation plumbing
● Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans
● Assist with plumbing estimating, material takeoffs, labor requirements, and project cost assessments
● Review project scopes before mobilization to identify potential risks or additional requirements
● Ensure work complies with applicable Ohio plumbing codes, local building codes, permitting requirements, and safety regulations
● Conduct field inspections and quality-control reviews
● Troubleshoot complex plumbing and mechanical system issues
● Perform pipe cutting, threading, fitting, assembly, and other standard plumbing installation techniques
● Properly operate plumbing equipment, hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and drain/sewer equipment
● Coordinate plumbing activities with HVAC, electrical, general construction, and other trades when necessary
● Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, project progress, recommended repairs, and potential changes in scope
● Maintain accurate job documentation, photographs, material usage, and field notes
● Support training and development of technicians and less-experienced plumbing personnel
● Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
● Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements
● Help Transit & Flow maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer satisfaction
Qualifications & Experience
● Proven professional plumbing experience with a strong background in residential plumbing
● Significant commercial plumbing experience strongly preferred
● Master Plumber or applicable Ohio plumbing contractor licensing/credentials highly preferred
● Strong understanding of plumbing installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
● Demonstrated knowledge of applicable plumbing and building codes
● Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction documentation
● Experience supervising plumbing technicians, apprentices, or subcontractors
● Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
● Experience with plumbing construction, remodeling, renovation, and service work
● Ability to perform material takeoffs and assist with estimating
● Strong understanding of measurements, calculations, pipe sizing, and plumbing system layouts
● Experience using standard plumbing hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and installation equipment
● Ability to safely perform physically demanding plumbing work
● Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
● Professional appearance and communication
● Strong customer-service skills
● Ability to work independently while also leading a team
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
Major Plus — Plumbing + HVAC
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across both plumbing and HVAC/mechanical systems.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with:
● Ohio HVAC licensing or qualifying credentials
● Residential HVAC service and installation experience
● Commercial HVAC experience
● Boilers and hydronic systems experience
● Mechanical piping experience
● HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting experience
● Experience coordinating plumbing and HVAC portions of construction projects
● Multi-trade field leadership experience
Ohio plumbing credentials combined with HVAC experience would be a significant advantage for this position.
