We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team in Newton, Kansas. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, this hands-on role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in PLCs, electrical controls, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install, repair, adjust, and monitor production and facility equipment as assigned.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, automation, software, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using equipment specifications, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Requisition repair and replacement parts as needed and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Utilize automation knowledge and problem-solving skills to design, modify, and debug existing and new equipment.
- Operate and work around plant equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain manufacturing process documentation and machine records.
- Support and maintain equipment including electrical saws, CNC machines, cutting and compression equipment, packaging machinery, and facility systems.
- Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and codes related to electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ensure company policies and maintenance standards are followed for both capital projects and daily operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and production uptime.
- Assist team members in troubleshooting machine and system issues.
- Promote environmental, health, and safety compliance by following all safety procedures, completing required training, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Formal training and hands-on experience as an Industrial Electrician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or related trade.
- Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Light machining and welding experience preferred.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience obtaining quotes and purchasing maintenance components and services preferred.
- Advanced understanding of maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, and repair techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
