POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, appearance and safety standards of facilities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning & Sanitation: Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff floors; clean restrooms, kitchens, lobbies, windows, walls; disinfect high-touch surfaces.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain exterior areas like sidewalks, parking lots, fencing
- Safety & Security: Identify and report hazards, place safety signs (wet floor), and adhere to security protocols
- Complete minor repairs and building improvements
- Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying trash and recycling bins and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with “make ready” duty requests
- Report on maintenance needs to Restaurant Manager
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and business-required shifts
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and management
- Ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply operational procedures, menu knowledge, and service standards
- Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow recipes, preparation procedures, and service guidelines
- Current California Food Handler Card, ServSafe Certification, or equivalent food safety certification as required by applicable law
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform repetitive movements including bending, reaching, stooping, and carrying trays or service items as required during normal job duties
