Position Overview:
Provides services to clients in accordance with the Guam Medical Practice Act, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Health Services of the Pacific policy, and accepted professional standards of practice. The Physician provides medical services utilizing a comprehensive base on the practice of medicine and communicates/documents observations and assessments. The Physician will provide care for the presenting patient from history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of their care. Safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients will be demonstrated.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical School.
- Licensed to practice medicine on Guam.
- Valid DEA, and CSR
- CPR Certification.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Essential Job Functions:
1. Responds to requests of agency staff for consultation on client care issues (medical, social, and ethical).
2. Serves as a liaison with client's attending physician, when necessary.
3. Performs patient assessments and therapeutic treatments and procedures as per delegation of services agreement.
- Obtains complete health and psychosocial history and records findings in a systematic format.
- Performs complete physical assessment.
- Orders, performs and interprets routine laboratory tests.
- Orders appropriate medications and/or medical devices.
- Arranges referrals to other members of the health team as needed and to community resources as appropriate.
4. Demonstrates awareness of current state, federal, and local laws governing the practice of medicine.
- Uses appropriate reporting mechanisms as required by state law.
- Respects the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients.
- Obtains appropriate authorization, consents for treatment.
- Follows proper procedures when handling and disposing of biohazardous waste.
5. Provides open and timely communication with patients, families, and their significant others.
6. Provides sufficient information to allow patients and significant others to participate in their care.
7. Provides educational resources to the patient/family as appropriate.
8. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
