Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, long-term care, or home and community care environments. As a Direct Care Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting residents’ daily needs, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to live their best lives.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document all medication-related activities .
- Provide specialized care for individuals with disabilities.
- Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers while adhering to safe patient lifting practices.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Engage residents in social activities and facilitate communication to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols, including cleaning duties and sanitation procedures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in medication administration is preferred through CLS.
- Familiarity with progress notes for documentation purposes.
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for resident transportation when needed.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving abilities to foster positive resident relationships.

Pay: $17.13 per hour
