Downriver Smiles is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for a support role to join our team.

About the Role
This position is ideal for a skilled assistant who is confident in a wide range of chairside procedures and committed to creating a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for both patients and providers. You’ll play a key role in supporting our clinical operations across general, restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist efficiently during a variety of procedures
- Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout visits
- Take high-quality X-rays and provide post-op instructions
- Take impressions, perform scanning, and fabricate temporary crowns
- Sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection control standards
- Manage inventory and operatory setup
- Accurately chart and document patient records and treatment plans
- Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to keep schedules running smoothly
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of chairside dental assisting experience
- Current state dental assisting license/registration
- Strong clinical skills across general and restorative procedures
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience with Open Dental a Plus
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented
