Pay Schedule I, Grade 19, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week
A vacancy exists in the Department of Corrections.
The shift for this position is 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (overnight) and this position is located inside of a Correctional Facility.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Job Purpose
Under general supervision, assists in the receipt, storage, and issuance of inmate personal property.
Essential Job Duties-
Responsible for the receiving, storing, and issuing of inmate personal property in a carefully controlled correctional facility, receiving and property room setting

Enters inmate personal property into specialized databases, adhering to applicable guidelines and rules for the maintenance of chain of custody.

Tracks inmate property through channels as required.

Conducts follow-up investigations and produces final reports.

Codifies all property received according to Baltimore County policies and procedures and personal property inventory systems.

Maintains personal property inventory accounting records of property received and issued.

Conduct semiannual inventory of inmate property.

Employees in this classification are required to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
Employees must attend and satisfactorily complete the requirements for certification, as dictated by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission within one year of appointment.
Employees must pass retraining requirements as mandated throughout employment.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this classification entails job function performance in a correctional facility with some walking, lifting, carrying, and other physical activities.
Character Requirements
All applicants must be of good moral character and emotionally stable, as determined by a comprehensive background investigation and test for drug use.
Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation
Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
