We are eager to expand our team of night-time maintenance technicians at our Distribution & Manufacturing Center located in Saratoga Springs, NY. This position is ideally suited for an individual seeking an opportunity to stay local and work in a multifaceted environment with many opportunities to learn. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated and confident enough to use their existing skills and knowledge to solve a variety of maintenance problems pertaining to the facility and production environments.
Duties:
- Perform nighttime routine security walks
- Ammonia refrigeration equipment monitoring and routine maintenance tasks
- Boiler and feedwater testing, chemical addition, and documenting
- Greasing and maintenance of equipment/machines and documenting
- Facility repair as it pertains to plumbing, sewer, lighting, doors and windows, office furniture, floors, walls, etc.
- Cleaning of maintenance areas (including emptying metal/garbage into dumpsters)
- Answering calls and giving support where needed
Requirements:
- Ability to be on one's feet for an extended period.
- Ability to climb or work on ladders.
- Good mechanical skills and knowledge of trade tools expected.
- Some electrical experience and familiarity with the use of a multimeter are desirable.
- Some experience troubleshooting pneumatics, hydronics & hydraulics
- Desire to listen, learn, teach, and work hands-on alongside our existing maintenance staff is a must.
- Prior field experience and/or exposure within a manufacturing or technical environment preferred.
- Must be able to follow written policies and procedures.
- Must have good interpersonal skills for communication within the maintenance department as well as between other departments.
- This position may be scheduled as 10-hour shifts, four days a week, or 8-hour shifts, five days a week.
- Weekends and some holidays are a must.
