Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide essential nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring that patients receive high-quality medical attention in various settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) as required.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, family planning, and medical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, particularly in medical-surgical units and pediatrics.
- Assist with procedures such as dialyzing patients when necessary.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and physiology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
Skills
- Proficient understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices.
- Familiarity with trauma center protocols, particularly in Level I and Level II settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Ability to perform basic life support techniques competently.
- Experience or training in pediatrics is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in patient care documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively within various systems used in healthcare settings.
