We are currently seeking a Development Engineer for our location in Richmond, VA:
We are in need of a talented individual to take on the role of New Product Development / Design to Value (NPD/DTV) Engineer. This person will be responsible for creating refrigerated merchandisers and implementing cost reduction strategies for our existing product lines.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilizing value engineering methods to improve cost efficiency of current products.
- Working closely with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering teams to execute cost-saving initiatives.
- Overseeing DTV projects from start to finish, including scheduling and communication across departments.
- Generating creative solutions for product standardization and modularity.
- Creating CAD models and engineering simulations for proposed concepts.
- Collaborating with Product Management to validate solutions with customers.
- Developing test plans and coordinating with the Engineering Lab for validation.
- Conducting field tests to ensure solution effectiveness.
- Managing multiple projects and solving complex problems efficiently.
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in industrial product design.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, and similar design principles.
- Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
