American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Inpatient Overflow unit in Urbana, IL, requiring an IL RN license and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Weekend shifts as needed

Holiday shifts as needed

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience required

13-week contract

Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

ACLS certification

Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience

Level 1 Trauma experience required

ASN required; BSN preferred

Candidate interviews are conducted by facility leadership

Conducts bedside shift report, hourly rounding, care plan documentation, and patient education
-
Responsible for admission and discharge processes, including observation status patients
-
Delegates and validates patient care tasks with healthcare colleagues
-
Administers medications using the Five Rights and maintains safety protocols including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract

Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
