Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our local delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers both Dry Van and Flatbed's to transport freight within the local region with some runs to Illinois, Wisconsin etc. ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. Your expertise in various types of cargo and driving conditions will help maintain our reputation for reliability and excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, to deliver freight across designated area's.
- Some loading utilizing forklift involved. Mostly no touch freight.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on brakes, lights, tires, and load securement
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs, including route sheets, delivery receipts, and incident reports
- Follow all federal and state regulations related to commercial driving, including hours of service and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Assist with loading or unloading freight when necessary, ensuring proper handling of sensitive or heavy cargo
Experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers in a local delivery setting
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks is preferred
- Experience handling flatbeds, strapping and unstrapping.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations governing commercial trucking
