Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to maximize vehicle uptime.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex vehicle systems by interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams; repair automotive electrical systems including sensors, wiring harnesses, and control modules.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor during equipment assembly, disassembly, or replacement projects while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Skills
- Hands-on experience with heavy trucks and trailers.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems.
- Expertise in automotive diagnostics with the ability to identify issues quickly using modern diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems for vehicles and heavy machinery.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment and performing welding tasks safely.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining a focus on safety standards at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members about repairs or maintenance needs.
