Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician will perform unscheduled work, sustainment work (preventive maintenance), corrective maintenance and enhancement work which includes preparation of memos, plans, specifications, drawings, planning/programming/execution documents, papers, letters, presentations, briefings, and other correspondence, in addition to leading and/or participating in the required meetings/visits, and planning/programming/execution conferences/meetings as required to support project development. This position is considered contingent upon award.

Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide specialized expertise and recommendations in relation to Facilities, Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) projects.
Plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage the processes and documentation, and negotiate effectively.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
Safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating on both paved and gravel roads.
Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Extensive knowledge of Building Code requirements, equipment troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, & equipment evaluation required.
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and/or local regulations and statutes, Air Force and DoD regulations and other documentation.
Assist with schedule support, project level meeting attendance, database support, and budget submittals.
Assist with cost/schedules/status report reviews, scientific and technical research/document reviews/recommendations, and analysis of program and project data gaps.
Must be detailed and safety oriented.

Education & Experience Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of experience in either HVAC or Electrical building code requirements.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.

Skill & Certification Requirements

Extensive knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes, and regulations.
The ability to diagram designs both manually and with computer-aided drafting.
Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Cost Estimating Software.
Good team working and communication skills.
An excellent working knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering principles.
Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in troubleshooting techniques
Presentation and briefing capabilities
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Strong written and verbal communication skills
Possess administrative and project management skills
May be required to lift more than 50lbs
Position requires sitting, standing, keeling for long periods of time
