Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract assignment at Gunnison Valley Health – Senior Care Center in Gunnison, Colorado. The LPN will assist in supervising and delivering high-quality nursing care while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to long-term care residents.
- Assist in supervising daily nursing activities during assigned shifts.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor, assess, and document resident conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation using PointClickCare EMR.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Support rehabilitative and restorative nursing care.
Requirements
- Active Colorado LPN License (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or comparable healthcare setting
- Current BLS/BCLS Certification
- IV Certification preferred
- Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) preferred
- Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check required
- Must have reliable transportation, as public transportation is not available in Gunnison
Assignment Details
- 13-week contract
- Night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Holiday coverage required
- Overtime available after 40 hours per week
- No on-call responsibilities
- No 1099 contractors
