ON CALL: 2-3 call shifts/month
CT Technologist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure tohelp them feel comfortable.
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
- Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
Requirements:
- HCP’s currently registered in NYS will be required to have injection therapy certification stated on their license at time of submission
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position)
- Two (2) Years' Experience
- Level 1 Trauma Center Experience
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
Preferred:
- Injection certification preferred-must be willing to complete during orientation process.
- Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.
