Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Project Scheduler to join our dynamic project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling project schedules across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Lean Six Sigma, as well as expertise in various project scheduling tools. The Project Scheduler will play a pivotal role in coordinating project timelines, managing risks, and facilitating communication among stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive project schedules utilizing advanced project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet, ensuring accurate sequencing of tasks and resource allocation.
- Monitor ongoing project progress against established timelines; identify schedule variances and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers, team leads, and vendors to gather detailed requirements and define scope for effective schedule planning.
- Facilitate meetings to review project milestones, resolve scheduling conflicts, and update stakeholders on progress using presentation skills.
- Manage schedule changes through formal change management processes; document impacts on scope, cost, and timeline.
- Apply earned value management techniques to assess project performance and forecast completion dates accurately.
- Support risk management activities by identifying potential schedule risks and developing mitigation strategies aligned with program development principles.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of schedules, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies in compliance with PMBOK standards.
- Assist in program development by integrating multiple projects into cohesive portfolios; utilize PPM tools such as VersionOne or Confluence for tracking.
- Conduct data analysis to inform decision-making related to project planning, resource utilization, and process mapping.
- Promote continuous improvement practices like Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize workflows and enhance quality management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; PMP or PMI-SP certification preferred.
- Proven experience in project scheduling within complex environments using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile (SAFe), Kanban, and Lean principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in scope management, time management, risk management, and cost control techniques.
- Supervising experience leading teams in a fast-paced setting; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, requirements analysis, process modeling (Visio), and technical writing.
- Familiarity with PPM tools like Jira, Workday, Basecamp, SharePoint; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills complemented by effective communication skills for diverse audiences globally.
- Ability to facilitate meetings efficiently while managing conflict resolution and negotiation tasks.
- Strong analytical skills for data collection and root cause analysis; adept at vendor management and IT infrastructure coordination.
