Duties and Functions
- Collect medical and dental histories from patients
- Chart dental conditions based on the dentist’s observations and evaluations
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Take X-rays of patients’ teeth and develop them for dentist’s use
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
Requirements
- Registered Dental Hygienist License
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Availability to work overtime, including weekends
- Experience working with children preferred
- Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
About Us
We are a private dental office and accept cash or PPO insurance plans only. No HMO or medi-cal/denti-cal. We schedule 1-hour appointments. SRPs are typically done in two 1-hour appts. We use Open Dental software and take digital X-rays using Dexis and Nomad. Open Dental and the Nomad are VERY user friendly and easy to learn if you don't have experience.
Our goal is to continue creating positive dental experiences and maintain our 5-star reputation online. We aim to provide the absolute best service to our patients and to keep patient costs low. No upselling (laser/irrigation) and no production goal pressure. Our schedule is very stable. However, in the rare event of a cancellation, we do not send our hygienists home or ask them to clock out.
Pay/Benefits
Hourly compensation: $48.00 and up depending on candidate and experience.
