Overview
Mystic Sugar Bakery is looking for a energetic self starter to join our vibrant bakery team as a Bakery Assistant - Sandwich Maker, where your enthusiasm and culinary skills will help craft delicious sandwiches and baked goods that delight our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sandwiches and box lunches for catering. coordinating with contacts, vendors and management to ensure proper timing, inventory control and delivery. (large volume sandwich making or catering experience is desirable)
- Assist in baking and pastry preparation, including cookie making, cupcakes, frosting and other items as requested.
- Assist with breakfast service, making biscuits, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches, scones, muffins etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Package food items carefully for takeout or display, ensuring freshness and visual appeal
- Support food production processes by following recipes accurately and managing high-volume output during busy periods
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their orders and answering questions about menu items
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, bakery work, or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Skilled in pastry preparation, cake decorating, and baking techniques with a focus on baked goods
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in <PERSON> preparation (e.g., slicing meats or vegetables)
- Experience with catering or high-volume food production is a plus
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory effectively
