As a Construction Laborer, you'll contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality construction sites while gaining valuable experience across various trades. Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools. Perform heavy lifting tasks involving materials, equipment, and supplies to support ongoing projects. Operate power tools and hand tools safely to execute tasks such as framing, drywall installation, concrete finishing, painting, flooring, etc. Help with concrete work by mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete surfaces using mixers and pumps. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements for framing, metal stud framing, or roofing tasks. Participate in demolition, renovation, restoration projects, and site cleanup to maintain a safe working environment. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills when required for tasks like concrete pumping or material transport. Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, welders, or roofers in their daily activities. Follow safety protocols diligently and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Experience:
Previous construction site experience is highly preferred; familiarity with commercial or residential projects is a plus. Hands-on knowledge of construction estimating processes helps in understanding project scope and resource needs. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings ensures accurate task execution. Experience with various trades including carpentry (trim carpentry), flooring installation, tile laying, or plastering enhances versatility. Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery safely is essential; certifications in heavy equipment operation are advantageous. Knowledge of building materials such as metal studs, concrete forms, stucco, or masonry contributes to efficient project support. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking on-site is required.
