The Otsego Academy and Camp Instructor is responsible for supporting Otsego Academy students during their academic year. They will assist with planning, teaching, and providing individualized support to ensure students thrive in the Otsego Academy program. In the summer, the Otsego Academy and Camp Specialist transitions to a camp leadership role and is responsible for participating in planned activities and creating camp experiences that foster growth, social connection, and skill building. They will work closely with the Post-Secondary Community Habilitation Coordinator, the Coordinator of Enrichment and Community Life, and other Direct Support Professionals to ensure that academic, enrichment, and camp programming is aligned. During the academic year, this tole will report to the Director of Education for supervision, and during camp sessions, this role will report to the Post-Secondary Community Habilitation Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Required: Valid NYS driver's license with no restrictions
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: Willingness to obtain NYS Teaching Assistant License
- Preferred: Associate's degree in human services or related field
- Preferred: NYS Teaching Assistant License
- Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
The hourly rate of pay starts at $18 an hour and is commensurate with experience.
