Clinical Services & Program Coordination
Location: Copiague, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with one evening per week, alternating Saturdays, and occasional holidays as program needs require.
Position Summary
New Horizon Counseling Center (NHCC) is seeking a full time experienced Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to serve as the Clubhouse's designated Licensed Practitioner in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) requirements and the standards of Clubhouse International. Working in partnership with the Clubhouse Director, this position provides the Clubhouse’s licensed clinical services while also working alongside the Director in coordinating key operational and administrative functions that support the daily success of the Clubhouse. The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician serves as an integral member of the leadership team by providing clinical expertise, supporting program operations, mentoring staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives, assisting with regulatory compliance, and helping ensure fidelity to the internationally recognized Clubhouse Model. This is not a traditional outpatient counseling position. Consistent with the philosophy of Clubhouse International, the successful candidate will work side-by-side with Clubhouse members and staff in a recovery-oriented psychiatric rehabilitation environment that emphasizes strengths, meaningful relationships, shared decision-making, employment, education, wellness, independence, and full community participation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the Clubhouse's designated Licensed Practitioner in accordance with OMH requirements and Clubhouse International standards.
- Provide clinical consultation, behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and clinical guidance to members and staff while supporting the member-centered philosophy of the Clubhouse Model.
- Work collaboratively with the Clubhouse Director in coordinating daily program operations, administrative functions, and interdisciplinary activities.
- Participate in program planning, implementation, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and ongoing program development.
- Provide clinical consultation and mentorship to staff while supporting professional development and evidence-informed practices.
- Support members in achieving individualized recovery goals related to employment, education, housing, health, wellness, and community integration.
- Coordinate care with behavioral health providers, primary care providers, hospitals, social service agencies, vocational programs, and other community partners.
- Assist members in accessing behavioral health, medical, vocational, educational, and community resources that promote recovery and independence.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies, OMH requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in community outreach, relationship-building, and development of referral partnerships to increase awareness of Clubhouse services.
- Participate in evening, weekend, holiday, and special Clubhouse activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current New York State professional license qualifying the individual to serve as the Clubhouse's designated Licensed Practitioner (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT, Licensed Psychologist, or other qualifying behavioral health license).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults living with serious mental illness in community behavioral health, psychiatric rehabilitation, Clubhouse, PROS, ACT, Supported Employment, or similar recovery-oriented settings preferred.
- Experience participating in program coordination, quality improvement, staff development, interdisciplinary collaboration, or operational administration preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, person-centered behavioral health services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Food Manager's Certificate of Suffolk County, NY, or the ability to obtain certification within three (3) months of hire.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
