Qualification Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in education or a field related to special education from an
accredited college or university.
2. Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate.
3. Special Education Endorsement in Autism (ASD); SV Endorsement acceptable or
ISD Approved waiver.
4. Satisfactory experience interacting with individuals with disabilities.
5. Ability to work independently and to establish and maintain effective scheduling.
6. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively
work with students, parents, staff, other agencies and the general public.
7. Computer literacy, including the ability to word process, utilize software applications
and use electronic mail.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand,
walk, sit, talk, see and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel,
crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift
and/or move 60 pounds or more. Occasional travel may be required. Noise levels
are typically moderate.
