Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units, HVAC/R systems, and mechanical equipment using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade HVAC systems, building automation systems, boilers, air conditioning units, and related mechanical systems in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical components to prevent downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within refrigeration units or HVAC installations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, repairs needed, and maintenance recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician with construction experience or mechanical systems repair background.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles—including ammonia refrigeration—and HVAC system repair and installation.
- Familiarity with schematics, building automation systems, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, welding, and appliance repair.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment including boilers, air conditioning units, pumps, valves, and related machinery.
- Ability to operate hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical work are advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills in diverse environments.

Pay: $32.85 - $36.35 per hour
