Kwikbit Internet delivers reliable high-speed internet solutions to residential communities across Texas and the United States. We are rapidly expanding our network footprint and are seeking a hands-on technician to support installations, service calls, and network deployments throughout the Houston area.
This is a three-month contract position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Position Overview
The Internet Installation Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining wireless internet equipment at residential communities and customer locations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and enjoys solving technical problems in the field.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure wireless internet equipment, routers, access points, and related hardware
- Perform site surveys and assess installation requirements
- Troubleshoot connectivity, signal strength, and network performance issues
- Run and terminate Ethernet cabling as needed
- Mount and install equipment on poles, buildings, and other structures
- Document installations and service activities using company tools
- Educate customers on service setup and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate with project managers and network engineers to complete deployments
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Kwikbit positively on-site
QualificationsRequired
- Experience with internet, telecom, networking, low-voltage, cable, satellite, or security system installations
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, Wi-Fi, and routers
- Ability to use hand tools and ladders safely
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- Experience with wireless internet service providers (WISPs)
- Experience with Ubiquiti, TP-Link Omada, Cambium, or similar networking equipment
- Low-voltage cabling experience
- OSHA certification or safety training
- Experience working in manufactured housing communities, RV parks, or multi-dwelling environments
Compensation
- Mileage reimbursement for approved travel
- Opportunity for overtime during installation projects
- Potential full-time employment after the contract period
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional evenings or weekends based on project schedules
- Travel throughout the Houston metro area and surrounding communities
