Position Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, food quality, and profitability. This role assists with team leadership, training, inventory management, and compliance with company policies and procedures while serving as the manager-on-duty when required.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Support the execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Monitor food quality, preparation, and presentation to ensure consistency.
- Ensure the restaurant maintains high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Serve as Manager-on-Duty during assigned shifts and in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
Team Leadership & Development
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
- Train team members on company standards, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to employees.
- Help create staff schedules that align with business needs and labor goals.
- Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and accurate service.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints professionally.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Monitor service performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Assist in achieving sales, profitability, and operational goals.
- Help control labor costs, food costs, and restaurant expenses.
- Support cash handling procedures, deposits, and financial accountability.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with ordering products and supplies.
- Minimize waste and ensure proper inventory rotation and storage practices.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Conduct routine safety and cleanliness inspections.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
- Support compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Performance Management
- Monitor key performance indicators such as sales, labor costs, speed of service, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in implementing action plans to improve restaurant performance.
- Recognize and reward employee achievements and contributions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- 1–3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience, preferably in a QSR environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and restaurant operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.

Physical Requirements

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
