Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Long Term Care to provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a comprehensive and supportive environment. Weekly Gross Pay: $1,716.00
Weekly Taxable Pay: $540.00
Non-taxable Weekly: $1,176.00

Genie Healthcare is currently seeking experienced LPN LONG TERM CARE to fill an opening place located in Lincoln, Nebraska for $47.66/hr. (Taxed+ nontaxed)
Requirements of LPN LONG TERM CARE:
● Must have AHA BLS.
● Must have a valid state NE License or Compact license.
● Must have at least 2 years of experience as an LPN LONG TERM CARE

Responsibilities of LPN LONG TERM CARE:
- Shift: - 12 Hours Nights
- Shift Details: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- 36 hours/week. (3*12)
- 13-week contract
- Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following established protocols and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility support, catheter care, tube feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavioral health interventions.
- Manage acute pain episodes and participate in discharge planning for post-acute or hospice patients to ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Maintain sterile techniques during procedures such as phlebotomy, suturing, or specimen collection while adhering to infection control standards.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems effectively for documentation of patient care activities, medication administration records (MAR), and medical records management.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice in long-term care settings.
- Proven experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities; hospital or ICU experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to geriatric and chronic disease management.
- Experience with IV insertion, infusion therapy, ventilator management, and acute pain management techniques.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations.
- Skilled in infection control practices, sterile processing techniques, and aseptic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective triage, patient education, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge of hospice care principles, dementia care strategies, behavioral health considerations, and emergency medicine protocols such as airway management or trauma response is advantageous.
