Position Title: Medical Assistant Clinical Lead
Department: Valor Health Emmett Medical Center and Urgent Care
Supervisor’s Title: Clinic Manager
Position Summary:
Medical Assistant Clinical Lead will perform duties as required for all Medical Assistant’s staff. In addition, this position will oversee the day-to-day activities and will assist with staffing and help Clinic Manager with performance needs.
Principal Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs all duties, tasks and responsibilities required by a Medical Assistant See attached job description.

Assists with employee timecards: make timecard correction, approve timecards as needed by manager.
- Assists in monitoring patients flow, minimizing wait times, and ensuring patient access per policy.

Provides back-up staffing relief for Medical Assistant team if necessary.
- Helps track PCMH goal achievements and lead improvements.

Under the direction of the clinic manager, provides direct on-site supervision of clinic nursing staff, including overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Interviews, trains, monitors, evaluates, and consistently coaches/ motivates clinical team for optimum customer service and patient satisfaction.

Oversees telephone triage and phone questions.

Leads patient engagement for medical assistant team.

Makes recommendations, with Clinic Manager’s support to initiate corrective action plan.

Communicates effectively with practitioners both verbally and in writing.

Workflow improvements. Complies with Valor’s policies and procedures, assists in development of protocols and procedures specific to areas of operation.

Maintain positive and effective relations with co-workers, other departments, clinicians, patients, and visitors.

Oversees clinical inventory and report/request needs for both medical and non- medical supplies.

Employee file maintenance.

Attendance is essential.

Conducts and participates in meetings.

Other duties as assigned or requested to this job position.
Position Qualifications/Requirements/preferences:
Minimum Education: Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Preferred Minimum Experience and Skills:

Must have clear reasoning and decision-making skills.

Excellent customer service.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to set up procedures, give injections, and perform dressing changes, i.e., all qualifications for MA.
Physical Requirement: Extensive walking, standing. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients. Lifting, reaching, hand eye coordination, speaking clear vision, motor skills and dexterity.
Certification, Registration or Licensure:

Must be licensed, registered, or certified by the State of Idaho

Must have current BLS.

Working Conditions: Blood borne pathogens; Potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to patient elements in general; Subject to contact with patients and their families under sometimes stressful, difficult, and unpredictable circumstances.
