Under general supervision of the Solid Waste Supervisor, the purpose of the position is to coordinate activities between solid waste collectors and the City while performing advance office and field supervision work in the enforcement of the Cities Solid waste contract. The position performs a variety of clerical, technical, and administrative work, coordinating the solid waste and recycling programs for the city; monitors solid waste collection activities to ensure compliance, responsible for investigating complaints, enforcing codes, and documenting violations.

Monitors residential collection services and residential recycling contracts to ensure compliance. Notifies manager of unusual situations or violations of the contract.

Meets with the contractor to discuss contract violations and solutions.

Inspects all phases of collection service to ensure work crews are providing quality service; informs appropriate supervisory personnel of problems ad recommends solutions.

Investigates/handles customer complaints received by the division. Researches and notifies the complainant of resolution.

Monitors Trac-EZ reports and follows up with contractors on unresolved issues or requests.

Coordinates solid waste activities needed during special events held throughout the city.

Maintains records, daily inspections reports, and related documentation concerning activities.

Evaluate truck routes to ensure areas are not missed.

Responsible for working closely with contractors on flyers and promotional information to give to residents yearly.

Inspects daily crew sheets and ensures trucks and drivers comply.

Performs clerical and administrative functions including answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, completion of monthly reports of activities, and other records and reports relating to solid waste/recycling.

Performs related duties as directed.
High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by two (2) years’ experience in compliance, contract management, or similar role; experience in solid waste compliance preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
