Position Summary
Line Cooks, Servers, and Bartenders are essential to delivering the energy, precision, and hospitality that define Zaytinya. Each role contributes to a seamless and engaging guest experience—whether through executing dishes with consistency, guiding guests through a shared dining journey, or crafting beverages with skill and creativity.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Hospitality (Servers & Bartenders)
- Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and engaging service that reflects Zaytinya’s vibrant hospitality.
- Guide guests through a mezze-style dining experience, including pacing, sharing, and recommendations.
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize service to create memorable experiences.
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Culinary Execution (Line Cooks)
- Prepare and execute menu items to recipe and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and timing during service.
- Execute proper mise en place, station setup, and prep work.
- Support menu changes, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Beverage Execution (Bartenders)
- Prepare cocktails, wine, and beverages to JAG standards.
- Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency behind the bar.
- Engage guests with strong product knowledge and recommendations.
Service Execution & Teamwork
- Follow JAG service standards and maintain strong communication between FOH and BOH.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Support teammates during peak periods and maintain service flow.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings, tastings, and ongoing training.
Product Knowledge & Sales (FOH)
- Develop strong knowledge of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, ingredients, and techniques.
- Make thoughtful food and beverage pairing recommendations.
- Drive sales through confident upselling and guest engagement.
Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all DOH, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, kitchens, and service areas.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
Role-Specific ExpectationsLine Cooks
- Execute dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper food handling standards.
- Communicate clearly with chefs and team members during service.
Servers
- Lead guests through the full dining experience with confidence and attention to detail.
- Manage multiple tables while maintaining pacing and service quality.
Bartenders
- Create a welcoming and energetic bar experience.
- Balance guest engagement with efficient beverage production.
Required Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred (role-dependent).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Interest in Mediterranean cuisine and hospitality.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30–40 lbs (role-dependent).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen or dining environment.
