Position Summary
HostWise is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented team member to join our hospitality operation as a Short-Term Rental Cleaner. This role is about far more than cleaning — you are a key part of the guest experience, responsible for the full turnover cycle that gets a home guest-ready: cleaning and resetting the space, managing laundry from pickup to delivery, keeping properties fully stocked, and tracking supply needs so nothing gets missed.
This is a hands-on, physically active position ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in quality and consistency, and wants to be part of a top-rated hospitality team.
Schedule: Thursday through Monday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shifts, full-time).
Key ResponsibilitiesTurnover & Cleaning
- Clean and reset short-term rental properties between guest stays to meet HWC’s 5-star standards
- Perform full cleans of all interiors of the home, plus exterior “living spaces” such as patios and decks
- Perform deep cleaning tasks on a rotating basis (e.g., baseboards, vents, fridge/oven)
- Identify and report maintenance issues or guest damage
Laundry Operations
- Pack laundry bags for pickup and delivery between properties and the laundry service
- Do laundry in-house: all towels are washed in house; linens are ~80% laundry service, ~20% in-house
- Treat and remove stains from linens before washing
Stocking & Supplies
- Restock supplies and amenities at each property (toiletries, paper products, coffee, etc.)
- Drop off supplies to properties as needed, outside of standard turnovers
- Complete stocking reports to track inventory levels and flag reorder needs
Additional Hospitality Support
- Assist with staging cleans, post-construction cleaning, and organizing supplies
- Occasionally assist with pre-arrival inspections and supply drop-offs
- Support non-turn projects such as deep cleaning as assigned
Location
All properties for this role are located within Pittsburgh city limits — Mt. Washington, North Side, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Squirrel Hill, and Shadyside.
Requirements
- Prior short-term rental (“Airbnb”) experience required, at least 1 year
- Track record of high-quality cleaning
- A hospitality mindset — takes pride in creating a great guest experience, not just a clean space
- Comfortable working independently and following detailed checklists
- Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate stairs regularly
- Smartphone with ability to use apps for schedules, photos, and communication
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks or last-minute assignments within the set schedule
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence
- Ability to fluently speak and write English
- Ability to manage time effectively and comfortable with multitasking under time constraints
