Shore Thing Tiki Cruises is hiring a part time/relief Master Captain for fill-in work on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, as well as other days as needed. We offer four 2.5 hour cruises a day, 7 days a week and stay consistently booked. Captain will be responsible for the overall safety of the boat, equipment, crew and all guests on board. Must have social and customer service skills to provide guests with an enjoyable and fun experience. Will be responsible for overall cleanliness of the boat and equipment. Must have an understanding of general boat maintenance. Training provided.
Duties include:
- Maintain a safe and clean environment on board the vessel at all times.
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, engaging, and courteous manner.
- Follow standard docking and embarkation procedures.
- Help with anchoring at sandbars.
- Take part in regular safety drills and maritime training.
- Function as part of a well-coordinated team.
Our crew members are hard-working, team-oriented, and dedicated to the safety and the enjoyment of our guests. Public speaking skills are a must! Ideal candidates are individuals who are out-going, interactive and work well with adults and children.
Pay is $70-$75/2.5 hour cruise; plus 50% tip share with mate.
Our vessels are 30' and 40' tiki pontoons boats, USGC inspected, passenger capacity of from 6-44 plus 2 crew. We depart from our marina in Cortez daily and pick up customers in Bradenton Beach. Applicant must join a drug consortium if not already enrolled in one. Pre-employment drug test required.
