American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week assignment at a hospital-based rehabilitation department in Hawaii, with required Saturday availability.

Hospital-based Rehabilitation Services department serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
-
Services include occupational, physical, and speech therapies with a broad scope of OT-specific offerings such as group therapy, recreational programs, vocational therapy, creative arts, life skills training, massage therapy, gait training, and muscle retraining

Patients include individuals with injuries, disabilities, or emotional/psychosocial challenges across a diverse range of diagnoses and age groups

Primary schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break; flexibility in hours may be required

Saturday work is required — no exceptions

13-week assignment

Active Hawaii OT license required — candidates should obtain this license as soon as possible

Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience required

Current BLS/BCLS certification required

License required if applicable

Orientation consists of 2 days: Day 1 covers HR onboarding, fingerprinting, policies and procedures, ID badging, safety, risk and quality management, and IT orientation starting at 7:30 AM; Day 2 is dedicated to EMR training

Responsible for evaluating and treating ADLs, ROM, strength, and functional abilities for both inpatient and outpatient cases under physician referral

Collaborates with nursing staff and an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, comprehensive rehabilitative care

Contributes to departmental in-services, staff education, and ongoing professional development initiatives

Assists in administrative and departmental responsibilities including equipment oversight, budget participation, and compliance with TJC and regulatory standards

May serve as an activities consultant for long-term care (LTC) and hospital activity programs

May be required to transport patients in a hospital van on occasion
