Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring that orders are fulfilled efficiently and correctly. Responsibilities
- Utilize order picker equipment and barcode scanning systems to accurately select items according to order specifications.
- Pack products securely using appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload shipments using material handling equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure correct items are picked and packed according to order requirements.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments against documentation and updating inventory records.
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with stock replenishment, stocking shelves, and organizing warehouse distribution areas.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management practices.
- Familiarity with order fulfillment processes, including picking & packing, shipping & receiving.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding heavy equipment operation and troubleshooting basic issues.
- Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on heavy lifting and materials handling safety.
- Knowledge of barcode scanning for logistics purposes and quality control standards.
- Experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is highly desirable.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
