Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and efficiency
- Follow safety standards in production, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Support food preparation activities such as slicing, dicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and uphold quality standards
- Adhere to all food safety management protocols, including temperature controls and cross-contamination prevention
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Strong culinary skills with proficiency in cooking techniques and food preparation methods
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards in production and food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, serving, and general kitchen operations
- Excellent knife skills and slicing techniques essential for meal preparation
