Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, endodontics (root canals), prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant placements.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnose dental conditions accurately, and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs.
- Utilize advanced dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix to document medical records, treatment plans, and progress notes efficiently.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Communicate clearly with patients about diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and comfort.
- Collaborate seamlessly with dental hygienists, assistants, and office staff to deliver comprehensive care through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Stay current with industry best practices by engaging in continuous education on topics like pediatric dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and medical imaging.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis processes.
- Expertise in general dentistry procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics (crowns/bridges), orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery.
- Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure safe treatment environments.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain diagnoses clearly and build trusting relationships with patients of all ages.
- Ability to perform detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA standards and state healthcare regulations.
- Experience working in a busy dental clinic setting with a focus on patient care excellence and team collaboration.
