Butler Tech is expanding its Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) and is seeking an experienced FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic to join our team as an Aviation Maintenance Instructor.
No teaching experience? No problem. If you have industry experience, Butler Tech will support you through Ohio's alternative teacher licensure process.
As an Aviation Instructor, you will:
- Teach aviation maintenance curriculum aligned with FAA Part 147 requirements.
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
- Prepare students for successful careers in aviation maintenance.
- Evaluate student performance and provide coaching and support.
- Build relationships with aviation industry partners.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance experience
- Willingness to complete Ohio Alternative Teacher Licensure process
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Preferred Qualifications: FAA Inspector Authorization (IA), FAA pilot certification (Private Pilot or higher)
- Previous teaching or training experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, industry partners, and FAA representatives
