1. PRIMARY PURPOSE –
The Shipping and Receiving Technician verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment while meeting established quality and productivity standards. This position also serves as a floater, providing operational support across multiple warehouse locations as needed, including assisting the Seed Cleaner during seasonal operations. In addition, the role requires cross-training within the Inventory Department to support inventory-related functions, including cycle counts, inventory verification, stock adjustments, and maintaining accurate inventory records as needed.

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments, customers or areas.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with the Logistics Supervisor to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department head.
- Responsible for reporting shortages or discrepancies of supply or shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -
a. 3-5 years’ experience in warehouse, warehouse management, shipping receiving
b. Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
c. General data entry experience (in a computer program such as inventory or accounting)
d. Basic mathematical skills – add, subtract, divide, multiply – ability to use a calculator
e. Ability to speak, read, write in English semi-fluently
f. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
g. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and generally proficient with computers
h. Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
i. Ability to analyze and solve problems
j. Ability to work with others collaboratively
k. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
5. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE –
a. Previous experience working with fertilizer or food industry
b. Forklift experience in warehousing environment
Pay: $18.27 - $27.88 per hour
