Gramophone Design Build (GDB) is an award-winning luxury residential remodeling firm serving homeowners throughout the Baltimore and Washington, DC metro areas. We specialize in custom kitchens, bathrooms, additions, basements, whole-home renovations, outdoor living spaces, and integrated smart home solutions.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Project Manager who is passionate about craftsmanship, thrives in a leadership role, and takes pride in delivering exceptional client experiences.
Position Summary
The Lead Carpenter / Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of high-end residential remodeling projects from construction kickoff through project completion.
This is more than a carpentry position; it is a leadership role. You will oversee daily field operations, manage project schedules, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, maintain communication with homeowners, ensure exceptional craftsmanship, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

· Project Management & Leadership
· Lead multiple residential remodeling projects from start to finish
· Develop and manage daily and weekly project schedules
· Coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and material deliveries
· Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship
· Identify and resolve project challenges quickly and professionally
· Maintain accurate project documentation and daily progress reports
· Communicate project updates proactively with homeowners and company leadership
· Manage punch lists and ensure every project is completed to the highest standards
· Create an organized, safe, and professional job site
· Lead, mentor, and develop carpenters and apprentices
Client Experience
· Serve as the primary field contact for homeowners throughout construction
· Build strong relationships through professionalism, communication, and trust
· Set expectations and provide consistent project updates
· Handle client concerns with confidence and urgency
· Deliver an exceptional customer experience from beginning to end
Carpentry & Construction
· Remain hands-on while leading the project by performing high-quality craftsmanship including:
· Framing and structural carpentry
· Kitchen, bathroom, basement, addition, and whole-home remodeling
· Drywall installation and repairs
· Finish carpentry
· Crown molding
· Baseboard and trim
· Wainscoting
· Coffered ceilings
· Custom millwork
· Built-ins
· Interior and exterior door installation
· Precision installation of custom cabinetry
· Demolition and general construction
· Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
· Quality control throughout every phase of construction

Qualifications
Required
· 7+ years of residential remodeling experience
· 3+ years leading residential remodeling projects
· Proven experience managing projects from start to finish
· Extensive knowledge of high-end residential construction
· Advanced finish carpentry skills
· Expertise installing custom cabinetry and architectural millwork
· Strong knowledge of framing, drywall, trim, and finish work
· Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
· Experience with estimating, budgeting, and job costing
· Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational skills
· Excellent communication and customer service abilities
· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
· MHIC License
· Experience Training apprentices and Junior Carpenters
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
