As an Accounting Assistant, this position supports all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring that all deadlines are met with the highest degree of accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares all vouchers and approved invoices for payment; processes all company payments in a timely manner including posting invoices, check run, 3-way matching.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments.
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to secure proper payment approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivables transactions in the accounting system.
- Record incoming payments and apply them to the appropriate customer accounts, tracking payment status.
- Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices, payment inquiries, and discrepancies.
- Assist in monthly reconciliations of accounts payable/receivable and related general ledger accounts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Minimum 1-4 years related experience and/or training
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis and evaluation.
- Ability to work with all levels of organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of products and familiarity with ERP systems.
